I am a young person

Are alcohol or drugs having an impact on your home or school life? Your physical health or your emotional wellbeing?

Are you getting in trouble because of alcohol or drugs? Do you want to learn more about alcohol and drugs and what effects they have or the law?

Drugs and alcohol support for young people

We are here for you.

We can give you advice on how to cut down, stop or be safer when using alcohol or drugs.

How we work

Step 1

A phone call to get some personal details from you, or this could be done via text if preferred.

Step 2

We want to meet you! We’ll arrange a time and place that suits, be it at home, school, or even a café or youth club.

Step 3

We’ll talk about what support we can offer and the support you require. We can offer advice on how to cut down, or stop your alcohol or drug consumption, but remember: we aren’t here to force you to make any changes you don’t want to make.

Step 4

Once we have agreed a plan, we will meet with you regularly to support and motivate you! We do not need your parent or carers consent to work with you, and they do not need to know, however it is often better to keep them in the loop, and let them know you’re working with YDAP, so they can help and support your recovery journey.

Confidentiality

Any work completed with YDAP is confidential, meaning whatever is discussed stays between you and your case worker, unless we think that you or someone else is at risk of harm then we have a duty to share this information.

Young people who have accessed our service said:

“YDAP has helped me with my cannabis use, they told me the effects of drugs and how it affects you long term and that made me realise why and how I should quit cannabis”
